Quilts of Valor

Last year I was filled with great passion to make 4 quilts of our Cherrywood bom.  Once I saw the first one finished I knew I did not want 4 quilts that large!  So the first finished quilt was a birthday present for someone very dear.  That was last year. Now I still had blocks left over from the other three I had started.  My first intuition was to make table runners out of them for Christmas presents. I could have had 6 or 3 bed runners.  At a recent guild meeting we were informed that many more soldiers would be coming home in the next few months and to be prepared for the need for more quilts for them.  So I then decided that those blocks would be better for a QOV. So I sat down and sewed them together yesterday and added a small border on each end, I also made the binding to match border.

Bell in steeple and cross on top.

After it was finished I went to visit  Brenda Peterson who not only is in charge of  my Kansas Troubles group and works very closely and very hard I might add with Quilts of Valor (QOV).
She is a very sweet lady .  Wish you all could know her.  This is all for now. I feel better that this is going to a good cause.  Remember always be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.  martha
