What are Friends For?

I have a close friend in Illinois that loves quilting as much as i do.  Her name is Mary Ann. She just loves to share , apparently!  One day as we were talking I asked her what she was sewing on and she said her scraps , she had gotten tired of looking at them.  She was sewing them together and going to make something out of them.  She is  very neat and precise with her scraps  as they are all cut and labeled into different sizes.  Squares and half square triangles. 1 , 1 1/2, 1 3/4 and sew on!  Unlike her counterpart in Minnesota who just divides by color.  I  must of been out of my head with a fever  , or just plain stupid to have laughed and said better you than me!







Within three days a package arrived for me from Illinois filled with a fabric history of my friends quilts and her stash. So now she tells me to  make something from it and show her. You can bet your bottom dollar you will be hearing more about this!!

Now I wish to show you my Alice in Wonderland quilt front and back.

Onward!

  I have been doing some more sewing of flying geese, the past couple of days.  I have made some progress as I have about twenty sashings total sewn now.  Here are pics of what I have finished so far. I also got back another lap quilt from the quilter and I have sewn down the binding on the front side. In the evenings I am enjoying hand sewing the back side.   I also purchased some Applipops  , which were a bit on the expensive side($35) and decided to try them for all the circles in this quilt. They are not worth the price in my opinion.  To each his own. I prefer my mylar circle washers, There are many more sizes and easier to use. Ryokan Second Visit
