Minnesota State Shop Hop

August 2nd Minnesota Quilt Shops will host a 16 day party! Women thru out the state will board buses and carpools to shop.  At each quilt store we will  see this year's selected fabric and the samples each store has chosen to display useing it!  Of course there are prizes and give a ways.  However it is a way to celebrate Minnesota, women and an Up North attitude.  I thought I would share some pics of our store's samples....

This is fabric that was reinterduced in January.

On the table are some smaller projects also. A tote , bag cassarole carrier and other projects.

Summer Visitors Coming!

My son and granddaughter are coming for a visit this week! I am very excited! So the posts will be slow this week.

Yesterday in the post I received the pattern " Mosiacs" from Irene Blanck Of "Focus on Quilts". She has some simply lovely patterns you should take the time to see. See here  www.focusonquilts.com.au/patterns

Maybe you will find your masterpiece to work on.

I worked on my Lucy Boston from Red Brolly's Stitchin Club.

The New  York City Modern quilt guild is sponsering  a double wedding ring challenge.   I only have to make four conjoined blocks  for the traditional entry and layer and quilt. See bumblebeansinc.blogspot.com  and see July 18th post. So this is the start of my double  wedding rings.  I have eight more arcs half way done.

I am useing  "Field Notes" By Blackbird Designs by Moda.  I purchased a jelly roll . Hope that is enough for the four blocks.

I am also patiently waiting for the next QuiltMania magazine. That and Primitive Quilts and Projects are my two favorite magazines. They both have so much poured into each issue.  Moda had a pic of a Minmick and Simpson quilt in it.

There is also a red version with a much more interesting border.

I must get started on a little cleaning and touch up before every one arrives , so all the chit chat for now. Martha.

Change of Pace

I  needed a change of pace ,  some time to catch on other things too.  So now I have a pic of the next block  of our summer buck blocks.....

Also Sherri falls of " Little bits of This and That" which you can find here has begun a new sew-a-long for fall (pumpkins and all you know).

I finished the quilting on my "Runners Rock" table topper and am now sewing on the binding.

I received my fall issue of Primitive Quilts and had to of course sit and read it immediately! Don't you just love it! So much in just one magazine, so way above the rest.

Also I have been keeping a little something from you.  I have added another hand project to the mix of things to do while watching BAD television.  Lucy Boston 's POTC (Patchwork of The Crosses) has joined the mix. I only have just begun, and I just can't sew fast enough! I only have two blocks partially done , but I thought I would  reveal them because it is so hard for me not to show them!  It will be an on-going project like my hexies.

Hope you enjoy the slight diversion from " Sand in my Painted Toes". More chit chat later! Martha.

Still At It

Yes I am still working on" Sand On My Painted Toes " as I call it,by Julie Herman and Jaybird Quilts. I have blocks #8 and # 9 finished.

                                            Block # 8

                               Block # 9

Hope you enjoyed the pics and tomorrow I may have something a little different to show you. Even though I do have my center compass finished for "Love Entwined" by Esther Aliu, I am having some serious thinking about the next 27 pages of directions. I will have to contemplate going forward and best plan of action for me. Chit chat later, Martha.
