Something New

I have started something new, with a little handwork involved. I finished my "Wooly Critters" and took it to quilter. I do not expect it back until August. Again with so much going on here (two big quilt shows and county fairs) lucky to get it then!

I am in Moosebay Muses(a.k.a., Karen Martin's) Stitch  Therapy group. We are doing Pam Curo's "Sophie's Garden"

 I have been following Karen's special tips and got myself a notebook with sleeves as to store directions and block pieces. I have finished my log cabin blocks,my sawtooth star blocks and my spool blocks.








I have also finished my 52 half square triangles.




I have one block with applique on it started. It has both wool and cotton velvet on it. Have not decided whether or not I like the cotton velvet or not. I may end up taking it off. I like the feel , not so much the look.....

Onward!

  I have been doing some more sewing of flying geese, the past couple of days.  I have made some progress as I have about twenty sashings total sewn now.  Here are pics of what I have finished so far. I also got back another lap quilt from the quilter and I have sewn down the binding on the front side. In the evenings I am enjoying hand sewing the back side.   I also purchased some Applipops  , which were a bit on the expensive side($35) and decided to try them for all the circles in this quilt. They are not worth the price in my opinion.  To each his own. I prefer my mylar circle washers, There are many more sizes and easier to use. Ryokan Second Visit
