Sit and Chat

Image
I am off to work this morning but I thought I would sit and chat awhile with you  before I left.  I finished the third section of my "Gypsy Wife".... And then I finished the fourth section.... Got a shot of my toes, I think I need to go back and get a pedicure next week.  I then finished my fifth section.... And then I put them all together to get this.... I did not have a volunteer to hold up top so I drafted from my cupboards a few helpers!   I have just begun working on my sixth section which is the largest piece of all ten sections. In the meantime I am still working on this table topper at night.... In case some of you may not have heard yet the last season of Downton Abbey begins on September 20th! Chit chat later, Martha.  I am linking up with  kathysquilts.blogspot.com  .

I finally got a chance to get back to my "Gypsy Wife" ! I finished most of the square in a square blocks, but still have 23 left to go. I have also been working on my english paper piecing and made five more with just one more needing to be made.... I have also prepared some wool for night time sewing.... I got some more practise on the paper piecing for   " Farmer's Wi fe   1930's "    which starts September 28th from the Gnome Angel and friends.  I did them in Cherrywood fabrics. I not only have  been busy with the sewing but also been cleaning and re-organizing some things in the kitchen also. I am taking my bread maker ,slicer and bread mixes to my son in October. As I do not get much use . My son makes his own buns for hamburgers even and they are good! Got a few more boxes to take back to Illinois to my daughter also. Chatter with you later, Martha.

Just finished the fourth and final applique  panel for my Mrs. Hartigan's Stash quilt !  Now I have english paper piecing left, so this will be a long term quilt. And you will be hearing more about it throughout the next year..... I have also worked on my paper piecing. I felt I needed a little practise before the end of September when Farmer's Wife 1930's begins. I do not do it a lot, so I printed off two blocks and went to it.   These are in the  30's fabric and I also hope to do a Cherrywood quilt. This is the panel Christmas quilt I was working on. I went to  a meeting on Saturday for a group that hosted a swap I was in , this is the quilt I made for someone in the swap.... This is the quilt that Brenda recieved in the swap..... There is some beautiful quilting on this which I did not get a close up of! This is the back of the quilt that Connie Krueger was to recieve..... This is the front with an embroidered butterf

I have been in a whirlwind these past ten days ! I have been swept away with many projects!  First of all the Crow Wing County fair was last week. I entered my  "Wooly Critters" quilt and won best of show,so I am happy about that. We are still in the midst of the Minnesota shop which lasts until this Sunday, the 16th.  And we had our meeting of our Simple Whatnots last tuesday and we had some show and tell also from it! Linda Johnson brought us this beauty to share! Ann manly brought in this lovely which also is a Kim Diehl pattern! And then Lorna Weins won the door prize this meeting... I hope to finish this today and take it back to work. Also I don't know if any of you readers have heard of the third book of Laurie  Hird called "Farmer's Wife, 1930's"  .
