Made It Home

Image
Watched my grand daughter in her play.Visited with my daughter and son. Saw and spent some time with a friend. Went to a hand quilting group and a Civil War group. We then traveled to the southern tip of Illinois and visited with my mother. A long time to sit in a car. Once we came home ,there is the grocery shopping, laundry and bill paying to do. Before I left I acquired the supplies to recover my ironing board. The top was ripped and stained. thermal fleece New decorator fabric, bright and fresh! Also bought a new iron. A cheap one from Wal-Mart. The last three have been Oliso's iron and within a year all were leaking. Great heat but does not last very long. Now I am ready to start sewing now. Chatter with you later, Martha.

Applique Group

Image
Our applique group met last Friday and we all enjoyed visiting and stitching. We had quite a nice group of lovely ladies.   Karen Martin and Sandy Baker were there. Kathi Potter was there and see her pretty stand and stow she made sitting there! That's  Twyila Parker who came visited and also started working on her next project which will be "Stitch Therapy"  that starts on Monday. Paula Murrey and Ann Manly came and we all enjoyed each other's company.  Elle Knolb also came and was crocheting some lovely coasters. She got away without getting her picture taken. Sly one she is! I am caught up with Thimblecreek also. Clue #7 And clue #8 Chatter with you later, Martha.

Heading Off

Image
Next Tuesday my husband and I will be off visiting my mother, our kids and grandkids. We will be gone for about a week and two days. I have had to make sure I have  everything for my class written up and samples done. This is one of the mystery quilt tops with the new two borders. Making it to 27 1/2" square so far. This is the table runner I will be giving them the pattern for. It has an enlarged block that is also used in the pattern from the "Little Gatherings" book from Lisa Bongean. Those little squares that are surrounding the quilt blocks are 1/4" squares. Chit chat with you later, Martha.
