A Few Finishes

Image
I have finally finished the fifth grey quilt for my grand-daughter's quilt ladder!  It was a pattern from Edyta Sitar named " Sweet Blend". I then went to some of my scraps and leftover blocks to see what I could do to lower the piles. I decided on place mats for meals on wheels program.  So over the last few snowy ,cold days; I finished ten place mats. I really didn't want to go out if I didn't have to.  I also finished my second row of geese for the mystery in my 3rd Saturday group. And the larger star block that was needed! Hoping for some nicer weather for The Shortest Shop Hop that is this Friday and Saturday! Don't forget to visit Colorz quilt shop and Country Fabrics !!! Chatter later , Martha.

The last of five quilts for my granddaughter's quilt ladder is a pattern by Edyta Sitar called "Sweet Blend".  I am making the stars with different greys and background will be a black eclectic print. About half the way there! I forgot to share a  picture of what I did with leftover blocks from my "Summer Wedding" quilt. I am hoping to hand quilt this and make it a donation quilt. Got this quilt back from quilter and have label put on and binding sewn down.                          Pic of my backing with top leftovers.  You can see my label in left hand corner of quilt.                                The last three flower blocks. I hope to bring this quilt top to quilter to also be basted for me to do some  hand quilting. It is only about 52" square, not that large.  I spent all day Saturday re-organizing my sewing room. Well worth the time spent ,  as I even found two queen size batts that I didn&#

I finished making all my "H" blocks and started putting them all in rows.                     And last group of three rows, same as first!  Then putting  those rows together..... Then adding a border before ironing, finished except quilting and putting on the binding. Then I went digging and dug out a small project that when finished will be approximately 60" square and is between four or five years old. It is a wool project from Lisa Bongean called "Lisa's Garden". I had 16 blocks left to finish. I have eight more to finish as of today. So I thought I would include a pic of quilt as it is now.  I finished making all the nine patches yeste
