Image
Only three more borders to go on this one! Hopefully will be done by this weekend.  Chatter with you later, Martha.

A Little Different

Image
I entered a Valentine's day swap online. This is my third swap I have ever entered. I am hopeing third time is the charm and everything goes alright. We were to make a heart with their initial on it  and add a bit of chocolate with it.  So I did that and now have it packaged and ready to be posted on February 1st.  Thought I might show a few pics..... Chocolate! Magnetic snap. Pockets   Betty Boop Tote Can you see the D in buttons and rhinestones? I also did some more work on my elongated hexagons for my Pam Buda quilt.  If you  are in the United States stay warm and sew on!  Martha.

Block Exchange

Image
I have joined a block exchange with a group of nine others in my Pine Tree Patchworkers Quilt Guild.  Actually  four small blocks make up one large block.  It is a foundation pieced scrappy block that is 6 1/2" square with bright colors ( She requested). Each of us has a month we are responsible for and February is Carol Nelson our President of guild's month.  Here is a pic of one block..... and the back side..... We are each making 8 small blocks and Carol will distribute them throughout the quilt so as to get a good visual mix of scrappy. I will give you an idea of the block put together.... So those are my eight blocks.  I am also making one block for myself of each  month's exchange so that I may have some sort of record of what we do this year.  We will see if I keep up. I also am doing some more work on my Pam Buda quilt that has elongated hexies in it. With all this cold weather I hope you have set aside some time to sew too! Martha

Winds Of Change

This is the first block for Pam Buda's quilt that uses elongated hexies. Thought I would give you a quick peek.... On my way to work chit chat later, Martha.

Pam Buda Patterns

Image
I have the quilt from the third gathering of Journey five top done, but not layered and quilted to show you.... I love it and just the tiniest bit of applique. Not enough to scare anyone away.  Starting to work on the elongated hexagon quilt , will give you a peek later. Martha.

A New Blog !

Image
There is  a new blog  from another member of the staff at Colorz quilt shop!  Denise  has a blog at www.funkystitches.wordpress.com  she is doing a block a day for a year!  Stop by and give her some support! I have started doing Temecula's star a week  (EPP) for a year. I thought that might be manageable for me. So far I am a little ahead of the game. I am only useing my scraps in this endeavor so as to use them up. I recently got  the first in the Journey 5 of Pam Buda Quilts back from Rebecca Anakkala quilted. Such a fine job hope you can see the feathers , one shot is of the back and one of the front center.... I put a striped bias binding on it.... Click on pic to enlarge.  On my way to work this morning so chit chat will be short, Martha.

First Post in 2014!

Image
This will be my first post in 2014 ! This year is only a week old and has already had some spectacular weather moments, not only here with -61 * temps but over two thirds of the United States.  So Monday  I stayed inside and sewed all day! No guilt either.  I have a few birthdays this month that I must prepare for and have a couple of votive candle mats to show.....  Just finishing the outside edges on these and they will be done. I finally got my birthday block for Pat Sloan mailed off to her as she will be putting  all of the ones she received together in a quilt this month. I have just finished another pattern by Pam Buda called  "Pleasant Prairie".  It is a small quilt about 25" square. I even have  a label on it .   What have you been up to? Chatter with you later, Martha.
