Guild Sew- In

Image
Yesterday our guild had a sew-in at the local church where we hold our meetings.  We had a variety of soups and breads and cookie bars  to help us get thru the day! None of us were left wanting for anything. I took a few pics that I will gladly share....    Val marking her half square triangles. Carol Lang finishing her binding. Terese Molby's placemats. Terese Molby Pretty cheater's cloth someone tied and bound. Sue Carrol working on a QOV quilt. Some of Karen Martin's Stitch Therapy Hexagons. Karen Martin working away. Sewing Away! On my bed. I put on a scrappy binding and  put it on my bed immediately! I also finished putting on the binding on my alphbet quilt.... And I got my cherrywood and vintage blossum one half way finished with binding.... I have also started another Kim Diehl quilt..... This one is called "Cloud Nine". Chatter with you soon, Martha.

Moving Forward

Image
One should be always looking forward towards the next thing on your list.  Lately I have been able to do this!  I have two things going on my list right now , one of them is Kim Diehl's Simple Whatnots II collection. They are simply divine!! I finished the first one that is a bonus pattern.... I got my berries on , quilted and bound. Love it .  The second one is a blue and cream one, only about 23 1/2" by 23 1/2" big. I have it layered and need to start quilting it next.  I recieved my alphabet  quilt back from Rebecca Anakkala who quilted it for me.   Hopefully you can see some of the quilting from the back.... To me this is a  clamshell design.  Here is the front... So now I must find time to bind this also. I have finished my owl block of my "Wooly Critter Sampler" as shown here... Still have some time this afternoon to prepare another block for hand stitching while watching " Downton Abbey" , chatt...

A Wicked Surpise!

Image
I finished my alphabet quilt top and now just need to get it quilted. I have also finished this crib quilt top and am ready to baste it for hand quilting. And now for the wicked surprise!  I have a few pics of some of the display quilts Cherrywood has in Colorz Quilt store . If you want to see them all they will be on display until December 19th, so stop by and see them for yourself. This only a taste ,believe me ,there is so much more! Chit chat later, Martha.

Increase In Alphabet

Image
There has been an increase in Temecula's alphabet since our last chat session. H and I have been added .  I have a few pics to show you.... I like all the color!  I also had a few Halloween fat quarters laying around and decided to do something with them. I first cut 6 1/2 " squares from them and sewed them into a 6 by 6 block flimsy. I then added a 4 1/2" border . I only decided on that because that is how much of the grey fabric that I had left in the scrap bin. I am now making petals or doing a peel sort of thing along the seam lines of each square. I am appliqueing them down with a blind hem stitch and monofilament thread on top. 44 1/2 " square I will show you a little bit more as I finish it! Have you been making anything for Halloween? Chatter later, Martha.
