Moving On

Image
I finished my Log Cabin Hexagon quilt and took it to a longarm quilter  to be quilted. I do have pics to back that up for you. This is the second quilt to be made from the leftovers from the "Coastal Lily" quilt. I have also finished another block from "Winter Wonderland" and sewn  what blocks that I have finished together! It was quite a windy day when I took those pictures!  I also got the binding put on and back stitched down on my "Civil War Ladies"  quilt. All for now, be safe and be kind, Martha. Starting Something New!

I got my "Five   Inch Is A Cinch"  quilt back from the quilter's, so some binding is being done in the evening.   Of course a label was put on also. I'll give you a better pic once I'm finished. I had a small fat eighth bundle of a fabric line called "Cinderberry" . It has reds and creams in it.  I mixed in some odd at quarters from my fabric stash. I decided to try Deb Tucker's Rapid Fire Lemoyne star ruler . I think I've had it for about 7 years and not opened the package. I am making the small wall hanging pattern that comes with it. So far I've made 7 - 4" blocks , 1 -5" block , and 1- 3" block. I am enjoying the process so far.  Chatter later, be kind and be safe, Martha.

Dresses!

Image
I am sewing about five dresses or the congo, that's what my church group had cut out when I arrived there last Tuesday.  I finished them yesterday....       One red , orange and yellow one                            Two of the blue ones   And two of the red/brown ones. They all have two pockets on them decorated with pretty buttons. I am not for sure if you can see that in the pictures. I will be taking them back next tuesday to be packed up for shipping.  I also got another quilt bound. I do have another quilt at the quilter's and one here that I am working on. I hope to have my sewing room cleared up with projects by the 27th of this month. All for now, Martha.

Finishing Touches

Image
I received my " Chain of Fools" quilt back from Connie on Saturday.  I decided on a binding with a small flange.  The binding is a combo of two fabrics sewn together and then sewn down from the back. And then lastly sewn down on the front. Spring is here! See all that snow in the background.... hasn't stopped people here from wearing shorts and no coats!                                        Even got my label on!                                  All for now, enjoy your day, Martha.

I am going to link up with Slow Stitching Sunday for this post. I have a pile of quilts that have been quilted for about a year. Today while I am watching Game of Thrones ,I thought I might get rid of at least one.   It is about 70" square and all taupes. There are 9 blocks of embroidery on it also.  Here are some pics.... I used a varigated embroidery thread. My lilac bush smells so lovely every time I go outside to take pics.  Really more of a tree, that my neighbor and I share. I have also started another lap size quilt useing Wizard of OZ fabrics. Only a couple of blocks finished. Chatter later, Martha.
