Stringing You A Long

Image
I have my ABC quilt up to C finished. I like the look so far. I am caught up with the 10 th anniversay quilt except for stitching aroun the wool flowers which I will do tonight in front of the telly.  I took several pics in my attempt to be a little more artistic in my pics.  The weather was so nice today I could not resist. Thier won't be that many more nice days left. Chatter later, Martha.

Sew a Longs

Image
I have just finished the third part to Primitive gatherings Anniversay Sew-a-long. I am content in waiting for part four.... I have the satin stitch on the boob block. I also have Jeni from the Woolen Willow's stitch along finished. She gave out two blocks with first installment. Now I can start cutting the pieces for my granddaughter's quilt. She recently had her room painted and she picked out the fabrics. Now to finish it before she is 18! No worries right! LOL,  I do have a retreat next week to attend. We will see what I can get done, Martha.

A Small Finish

Image
I finished an embroidery block last night and so I have only one more to go before I can start putting them together! I have finished part two of Primitive Gatherings 10th anniversary sew-a-long. I am doing the wool version. I have a pic for you... Earlier I had answered a question on Mimmick and Simpson's blog and was a winner of a bag of Red and Cream scrap bags. So I decided to put them to good use in this small quilt! When I told Mr.SewWhat he actually giggled at me, more of a snicker really!  He just doesn't know how precious they are. Plus he doesn't know who Mimmick and Simpson are! I am doing a poor job of educating this man. I came home from work today with some dessert for my eyes  and inspiration for my soul. A fat eighth bundle of Kim Diehl's newest line Farmhouse Fresh. At" Colorz for Quilts"  we will be starting her new club in September! Chatter with you later, Martha.

Sewing Sunday

Image
I have been working on my "Night Sky" ,pattern by  Julie Herman of Jaybird Quilts. I have  six blocks  which I still have in two pieces. Here are the pics... So now I am up to ten blocks, halfway to the twenty needed for lap quilt.  I also finished two additional alternate blocks for my "Sunflower Gatherings" quilt by Primitive Gatherings Summer Block of the Week.  One of the things I purchased at the" Quilt Merchant" quilt store was a kit for a sampler of english paper piecing. I think I am going to put this on hold until after I finish  "Sunflower Gatherings".  I also added to my pre-cuts by purchasing two of the min charm packs...... All for this Sunday chatter later, Martha.

Giving It My Best Shot

Image
I have block #1 and block #2 ironed onto their backing square... So now I need to stitch them down. That will be my handwork for in front off the telly for those Pawn Stars, Shippers , Pickers, and History Channel war dramas. (That I cannot stand)  Mr. Sew What controls the remote!  I then started sewing the alternate blocks and finished two of the four.... when I took a break to go out and get the mail and put the clothes into the dryer from the washer.  Look what I got in the mail today.... #3. I guess I need to try a little harder, Martha.

Catching Up

Image
I have been trying to play catch up since vacation and I have just started making progress! PineTree Patchworkers guild's block exchange is done for June..... I also have three of the twenty stars needed for Julie Herman's (Jaybird Quilts)" Night Sky "pattern. I have also finished the freebie  for Primitive Gatherings 10th Anniversary. While away I also recieved the first two blocks of their summer block of the week. I just started cutting it out today,so I am still a little behind. But it is all good because that just means you will being hearing more from me. Chatter later , Martha.

Saint Patrick's Day topper

Image
Gotta hurry on this one, something green to celebrate the month of March! Made from scraps, a four patch with foldy corners on three sides. and green scraps that  measure 2 1/2 " squares. The  light backround squares that you make foldy corners with are 1 1/2 " squares. I made three 4 patch blocks for each shamrock. The fourth lite backround  4 1/2 " square  has a green stem is appliqued diagonally and a foldy 3" square added to bottom  to edge finish the stem.  I sewed four blocks together and put a 3" border around ( that only took 2 - 3" wof strips. Now I need to layer and quilt and bind. No formal pattern , just drew on graph paper. I have been planning on what block to do for the block exchange with Brenda Peterson's group of ladies. And I finally choose Cake Stand   I made a total of thirteen blocks and I  am adding a few finishing touches of my own.  Like adding a bird in the lower corner. Also a flower with two ...
