More Sand

I finished the binding on the table topper from the "Runners Rock" book by Gathering Friends. I also put a label on back. I finished block # 10 of  " My Painted Toes in the Sand". Block # 11 Hope you enjoyed the pics! Martha.

Change of Pace

I  needed a change of pace ,  some time to catch on other things too.  So now I have a pic of the next block  of our summer buck blocks... .. Also Sherri falls of " Little bits of This and That" which you can find here  has begun a new sew-a-long for fall (pumpkins and all you know). I finished the quilting on my "Runners Rock" table topper and am now sewing on the binding. I received my fall issue of Primitive Quilts and had to of course sit and read it immediately! Don't you just love it! So much in just one magazine, so way above the rest. Also I have been keeping a little something from you.  I have added another hand project to the mix of things to do while watching BAD television.  Lucy Boston 's POTC (Patchwork of The Crosses)  has joined the mix. I only have just begun, and I just can't sew fast enough! I only have two blocks partially done , but I thought I would  reveal them because it is so hard for me no...

Runners Rock

I finished doing the wool applique on my table topper from the " Runners  Rock" book by Gathering Friends.  So now I have it basted down and ready to try and big stitch quilt it. I do not do this very often so I would like to practise when I can. Hopefully I will get better at it.  I did my own thing on the border, it is not from the book. Flowers, grapes, three lady bugs and one snail! I will start hand quilting tonight. I also got the top to Edyta's wall hanging pieced and ironed on .  I will try and get this layered tomorrow so that when I sew down the pieces for raw edge applique I will be quilting at same time. I saved the backing from my steam'n seam so that I can use leaf shapes and mark quilting lines with these also. It is only about 40" x 40". So not that large. Will chit chat with you later, Martha.

Runners Rock Tablemat

Well I have my top and borders put onto my nine patch of blocks.  I need to take off the paper on the back now! A good way to do that is to use the rubber end of my new seam ripper.  A little rub and the paper is out!  ( Or a squiggle! ) Now the flowers and leaves that were in the book " Runners Rock"   were not my taste, so I decided to draw my own. So in case you are wandering that is why it looks different than the book.  So here are a couple of pics (I still have to do the hand stitching around pieces.).......   Not sure if any real difference in any of these pics, but in person the reds stand out more than the yellow.  Will chit chat later.
