Two More

Image
I have two more blocks glued down so that I can applique down. In the the pictures I only have the buttons glued in position not sewn down yet. Acorn foliage Fall Foliage I used brown leaf stems instead of  the  green she said. I also used blue buttons instead of the green she said.  Doing my own thing there.  Chatter later, Martha.

My scarecrow block is finished! I have some stars sewn on the Autumn block! Usually my back yard is flooded and water is up to the log my hubby has placed for the ducks to sit on. Even though it has been raining every day this week! I have a woodpecker at my feeder just now, hope you can make him out.... Weathermen have told us to look for snow the end of this week. Chatter later, Martha.

Working Hard

Image
I have been working hard to catch up on "Autumn Love" so that I would be ready for next Monday's clues. I have gotten my last two autumn stars finished.... I then put my applique scarecrow block together and have been working on the embroidery and applique ,  but have not finished yet. Last night I finally got all 28 -  - 4 1/2" stars finished! Now I just have to get fabrics and templates out and ready for Monday! WHEW!!!! Chatter later, Martha.

A Little Progress

Image
I finished the words "Autumn" for the Lori Holt  quilt. A few months back apparently did some embroidery and started to paint a block of the nine done. I got frustrated with it and gave it to my friend Connie. She quilted it lately and asked me if I would color a few more blocks to make it more uniform. So I finished working on it last night...... Before painting other blocks. Now that I have finished coloring I can give it back to her. She plans to donate it to charity. Speaking of which I have three quilts going to my church to fill a need  where ever they deem necessary. Here are their pictures before they leave my house...... For now it is back to applique and Lori Holt, chatter later, Martha.

This and That

Image
I just finished my sewing for tomorrow's Third Saturday Club , nothing like last minute but it is done! I have also gotten a little further on my Lori Holt "Autumn Love" quilt. I have the two stars on the ends finished and sashing put on. More stars are on the agenda for this week. I also picked up the blue, yellow and grey quilt and have it bound , I will probably drop it off next Tuesday  for the church to give sick ,cancer patients, and those in need. Now  a few close-ups of the quilting .... All for now, will check in later, Martha.

Behind the Scenes

Image
Yes I have been diligently working on Lori Holt's "Autumn Love", but I have also started another piecing project. With so much handwork  in the evening,  and now finished with my hand quilting project, I had some  spare time.  I started out doing some H blocks. My friend, Wanda Hanson, from  Exuberant Color , out to appreciate this! About 392 is what I need of these. Only have about 100 so far! Then proceeded to make a few of these blocks.... And some of these blocks.... Yes it's scrappy! Also cut a few background solid blocks.... I will show more of the progression as it comes, but I have only  made one other red and cream quilt and it was embroidery. I also have my three " Autumn Love"  blocks put together to show you... Chatter later when I make some progress, thanks for stopping, Martha.
