Pineapple Borders!

Image
I made quite a bit of  progress on my piano key borders yesterday. Finished them! A few pics to show you my progression of work.....                              Melon and grey borders are first up. First key border Second key border Third Border Last key border Two of my donations to the Camp Knutson Quilt auction were a little bit late to be turned in, but that just means they're early for next year! And that they can go into the Crow Wing  County Fair ! They both won blue ribbons and the Lori Holt "Autumn Love" That was hand applique won a reserve champion.... "My Mother's Tears"                         This one was a handkerchief quilt. So I am hoping that will help raise more money for charity. I guess we'll see. All for now, chatter later Martha.

Retreat is on Monday!!!

Image
I am so excited that retreat is next week! Looking forward to girl time. When I was ironing my "Autumn Love" quilt top , my heart sank as I realized that I had forgotten to do all the embroidery accents on many of the applique blocks! I finished ironing it but now it sits waiting to be embroidered . I am not going to drag it to retreat, as I promised myself something new to work on..... Autumn Love I have also finished my "Hugs and Kisses" quilt top that I took to retreat last year.  I have pics of the progression to its building. The fabric and pattern is by Jen Kingwell. It is finished so that it will not be going with me either! I had some leftover small wool applique blocks leftover and my friend Connie said to put them in a small wall hanging for the guild's Boutique fund raiser at our Quilt Show in June. So I have finished that this past week. Binding finished! I recently got back my red and white ...

ALMOST FINISHED

Image
I have been hand appliqueing  the last block in my Lori Holt's "Autumn Love" quilt. I finally finished it and put the sashing on! I then cut the binding and ironed it to get it ready for the finish.                    This fabric below is the last border to be put on. I have them cut but it will have to wait till tomorrow. I did get that last row put on before the last borders. My hubby held it during one of the race commercials today. It was greatly appreciated. Will chatter later, enjoy your sunday, Martha.

In The Mail!

Image
I made my granddaughter a table runner that was bright green with colorful flowers on it. The green was to cover Saint Patrick's Day, and the flowers for April and May. I also got back her last star quilt from Connie Krueger, who quilted it. So I was able to add the label and the binding and mail them both off today! The front of "Sweet Blend" by Edyta Sitar. Scrappy back with label in upper left hand corner. Now back to hand applique on Lori Holt's "Autumn Love". Connie and I are going on a road trip to Randall tomorrow, might be some fat quarters involved. Just saying , could happen. Chatter later, Martha.

A Little Behind

Image
Yes I am a little behind in my Lori Holt quilt "Autumn Love". But not to far as to lose sight of the finish! Here is my milk can block all finished and cut to size. It has been so dark and dull the past few weeks that I don't even bother trying to take a picture outside anymore. I have the next two blocks glued down and buttons picked out. The maple leaf block.... And the sunflower block..... I have also finished four more blocks for my red and cream quilt. Now I only need 44 more! All for now  chatter later, Martha.

Now to start the milk can block!

A Little Progress

Image
I finished the words "Autumn" for the Lori Holt  quilt. A few months back apparently did some embroidery and started to paint a block of the nine done. I got frustrated with it and gave it to my friend Connie. She quilted it lately and asked me if I would color a few more blocks to make it more uniform. So I finished working on it last night...... Before painting other blocks. Now that I have finished coloring I can give it back to her. She plans to donate it to charity. Speaking of which I have three quilts going to my church to fill a need  where ever they deem necessary. Here are their pictures before they leave my house...... For now it is back to applique and Lori Holt, chatter later, Martha.

This and That

Image
I just finished my sewing for tomorrow's Third Saturday Club , nothing like last minute but it is done! I have also gotten a little further on my Lori Holt "Autumn Love" quilt. I have the two stars on the ends finished and sashing put on. More stars are on the agenda for this week. I also picked up the blue, yellow and grey quilt and have it bound , I will probably drop it off next Tuesday  for the church to give sick ,cancer patients, and those in need. Now  a few close-ups of the quilting .... All for now, will check in later, Martha.
