Another Finish

Image
I finished my BQ4 pattern by Maple Island, made with "Linework"    fabric line by Tula Pink.   I have decided on a backing fabric which is also designed by Tula Pink.  Now I need to iron both pieces one last time before going to quilter's.  Someone asked in my last post if the pattern "Salt and Pepper" was available. Yes it is. It is on a post card by Villa Rosa    . I also got binding put on my original "Aurifil Spool" pattern and sewn down. I even braved the snow on my deck to get some pics. This is the backing pic..... Be safe and be kind, Martha.

Natural Progression

My Aurifil spool quilt top with Tula Pink's Handmade fabric line is finally finished! I took several pictures along the way and want to share them with you.... last two spools small spools The backing I chose was a digital print at 108" wide. There is no formal  pattern as I drew it up on my graph paper. I really like it and might do it again using  a different line of fabric. I'll be taking this to the quilter's tomorrow.  Be safe and be kind, chatter later, Martha.

Fall Already?

Image
Today is a cool cloudy day and reminds me fall is on its way.  The kids here have gone back to school so the streets are kind of quiet. I finished my August BOM  from Aurifil just in time to get the next one!  So here are pics of August's finished and September's prepared to do! I printed off my Pam Buda blocks  of the week, from Heartspun Quilts. I immediately sewed those up and put them with the others; but not before taking a pic to show you. I also thought i had better start my Raspberry Rabbits August block before she gives us September's on the 15th.  So this is it prepared to embroider. My Kansas Trouble club meets the 15th and I need to do my center medallion , so I got the pieces cut to sew tomorrow. Must go do a little housework before huibby wakes up,chit chat later, Martha

Vested!

Image
I have finished my secret  Cherrywood project. It was partly Cherrywood and part Minnesota  shop hop fabric. It will go on display at the store, it is not mine.  The lining of the vest has fabric that is supposed to represent logs, that is what those circles are. The Cherrywood fabrics are the colors they have specially dyed to go with the Minnesota fabrics . I have also finished my June block for the BOM for Aurifil Buzz .i'll  now start the July block. Now I must start also getting ready for company in a couple of weeks my son will be bringing his family to visit! It will be my youngest granddaughter's birthday. She will be ten. All for now must be moving along.  Martha

The Buzz

Image
I finished the May block for the Aurifil Buzz BOM.  I have never seen my husband cook. He does grill food once in a while.  Well yesterday I woke up to french toast which is my favorite. I think I will keep him.  He went fishing today as this past week end was the opening season.  Every body and thier brother was here.  Tonight is my quilt  guild meeting, the last one before our quilt show in June. Remember this quilt?  Well I added the crows and stars that needed to go on borders and now just need to add four eye buttons and then to the quilters I will go. It is absolutely beautiful outside. Have a great day!  Martha

Easter finish

Image
Usually I get my holiday project done after the holiday.  For once I have something done a week in advance!  The Easter design to embroidery is free from Bird Brain Designs .  I finished it and sent it to my little sister.  I put it on a kitchen towel as you may be able to tell. I also got my April block from Aurifil ready to do tonight as I watch tv.  It was Gail Pan's  month to design.  The fabric that I am useing is Late Bloomers by Sandi Gervais . Just in case you are wondering, I am for right now,  putting my rowenta travel iron  to work. And I am still working away on my 30's project.  All for now, talk to you later, martha

More Shamrocks

Image
I finished doing handwork on the shamrock on my third block in Aurifil's block of the month. I then proceeded to quilt qnd put a small binding on my green basket quilt. I also sewed some stacked  yo yo's  with a button topper on two of the blocks. Now tonight I may sit in my chair and handsew back  down. I then proceeded to finish the basket top for my small quilt group that is on-line. It was made out of Kansas Troubles except for the beige polka dots  in backround of baskets. It is layered and waiting to be quilted. I will be traveling back home next month and I have a few birthday presents to make in the meantime.  So the next few weeks will definetly be busy .  Hang on to your seats, it will be a bumpy ride!  martha
