Retreat is on Monday!!!

Image
I am so excited that retreat is next week! Looking forward to girl time. When I was ironing my "Autumn Love" quilt top , my heart sank as I realized that I had forgotten to do all the embroidery accents on many of the applique blocks! I finished ironing it but now it sits waiting to be embroidered . I am not going to drag it to retreat, as I promised myself something new to work on..... Autumn Love I have also finished my "Hugs and Kisses" quilt top that I took to retreat last year.  I have pics of the progression to its building. The fabric and pattern is by Jen Kingwell. It is finished so that it will not be going with me either! I had some leftover small wool applique blocks leftover and my friend Connie said to put them in a small wall hanging for the guild's Boutique fund raiser at our Quilt Show in June. So I have finished that this past week. Binding finished! I recently got back my red and white ...

Getting Ready!

Image
I have been trying to get ready for retreat this April 1st thru the third. Last year I brought a quilt that had been in Quiltmania.    I had purchased a kit from Moda for this, same fabrics as the cover photo. Fabric and pattern are designed by one of my favorite designers! Jen Kingwell!!! Last year I forgot to bring the right rulers to be able to cut the pieces out, so next to nothing was done. So my goal this year was to have all diamonds put together so that I can just put blocks together and leave with a top put together! We'll see how far I get. Till I have a pile, but not quite finished..... I still have a couple of weeks to prepare, so I still have some time! Chatter later, Martha.

Three More Blocks For Charity Quilt !!

Image
Judy Shaw turned in her block which you see below... Merrilee Mondo dropped off her two blocks... Everyone has until January to finish their blocks and hand them in. This is a pattern by Anne Sutton, aka - Bunny Hill. We have applique group next friday and perhaps a few more will be handed in. I also recieved my "Sassy " quilt back from Mary Hammer who quilted it.... It has the binding sewn on and I will be working on sewing it down to the back the next few nights. I also finished my Hugs and Kisses quilt made with "Silver Linings " line of fabric. I  took a few pics to show off the top... I took it to Mary also.  I used all my scraps from the line and all the extra blocks in the backing. Just being frugal. Now to work on my Farmer's Wife 1930's blocks! Martha.
