Image
Thimblecreek gave the next block in their semi-mystery quilt. This is block Two. Chatter later, Martha.

A Little Further Along

Image
I have gotten a little further along with my Jen Kingwell (Chain of Fools) quilt as you see here. Had some errands to run today with hubby, so didn't get to much else done. For those of you in 3rd Saturday group I posted this there, a full frontal of our February block. I will also post here.... I needed a little help to find out where I went wrong, so Brenda, dear sweet Brenda helped me find my error. Thank you again Brenda. Chit chat later, Martha.

Another Jen Kingwell

Image
I have had this quilt cut out for over a year. I finally felt it was time to sew it up! It is a Jen Kingwell quilt(54" x 66" ) called Chain of Fools.  I decided to do mine in blues and greens mainly with a bit of orange as a spark.  I still have not gotten away from the geese yet....                            I have four blocks partially done. 2 blocks 2 blocks                                 Then I have one fully done.     It is a fairly large block. There are 16 blocks total. It has a scrappy look. Love all the color against the white.  We've a white out snow storm with a possible 4" -8" downfall. Tomorrow some winds coming in. Chatter later , Martha.

Thimblecreek and More

Image
I have completed my two blocks for Thimblecreek Mystery sew-a-long..... As you can see the "No tricks just Treats" will not be in Halloween colors.  I could not resist doing a little retail therapy while in St. Cloud. Picks of my choices.....                                      four pieces of Kaffe                        Some "Farmhouse Reds"  by Mimick and Simpson for a future red and white quilt.

HST'S

Image
I got my 32 hst's done.                              Going to Red Lobster!!!!

Mystery Block of the Month

Image
Brenda's mystery BOM is in its second month. I am using a fabric line called " Shibori II ". This step contains a lot of flying geese of different sizes. We are asked to make four blocks of this pattern.... Once we have four they are put together to form a really large block like this.... I only have the 32hst's left to make and I will be done.  Tomorrow  i will be heading off to St. Cloud. Hubby wants to go to Hobby Lobby and Red Lobster. I can't believe he said that!  Chatter with you later. Martha.

New Project

Image
I have started a new project.  Some pieces are sewn down but not all. Chatter later, Martha. It is a pattern by Edyta Sitar and fabric is Blue Sky by her design also.

Finish and BOM

Image
I finished quilting my Frivol quilt and got the binding on it. Washed it and pulled it out of the dryer just now! All nice and warm and cuddly. Now I need to sew the label on the back. Today the first step of the quilt-a-long with frommycarolinahome.wordpress.com   came down today. I am only doing the table runner/topper , so I only had to do eight 9 patch blocks. Today is also Friday and Farmhouse Threads should have their next block out for their quilt-a-long. I will have to check that out. Chatter with you later, Martha.

Backing Made

Image
I got my backing put together. I also got my three layers spray basted together. I zig zagged three fairly large pieces of leftover batting together. This was in an attempt to use up some scrap batting from larger quilts. Hopefully tomorrow will yield some time to start quilting on domestic machine. Plus some hand quilting also after that. There were two embroidery floss hanks included with this frivol.  A blue and a green to match fabrics.  I will check in later with results. Martha

More Progression and a Finish!

Image
I have  a few pics of rows being added and a top finish!                          This is all four blocks sewn together         This is with another row of geese sewn on all four sides.                  This is a 3 inch background border all around. Today I also cut out two small flannel projects for my son-in-law. But I will show you those when I get a little bit of sewing done on them.  As for this 50 1/2" square flimsy I think I will use both hand quilting and machine quilting. That's for another day. My husband is helping out with the dog sled races in Remer today. Today is my do whatever I want day! Bye for now, Martha.
