sew what's new?

  I have a little preview of the Coastal Lily  quilt that I'm working on.... I  have made quilt labels from pieces of the civil war  fabric from Judie Rothermel. I also finished the binding on another Tula Pink " Line work " quilt that recently came back from the quilter's. Last pic is the backing fabric, another Tula Pink backing. I received my " Chain of Fools" quilt back from Connie on Saturday.  I decided on a binding with a small flange.  The binding is a combo of two fabrics sewn together and then sewn down from the back. And then lastly sewn down on the front. Spring is here! See all that snow in the background.... hasn't stopped people here from wearing shorts and no coats!                                        Even got my label on!                                  All for now, enjoy your day, Martha.

This is my block from Buttermilk Basin's free  BOM. Next one is the 15th of this month.  Also got one wool piece of Fig Tree quilts laid out and ready to get started on the hand stitching. She has you quilt your piece before you place down your wool. No heat ' n bond , just Roxanne glue. This piece is from the book "Little Gatherings" by Lisa Bongean.  Still working on the embroidery and wool before I begin the layering and quilting. This is flannel and will be a quilt label once I have it hand stitched down. What do you think?   This block is 11" square unfinished and 10 1/2" square finished. Never took the time to make a "Tree of Life " quilt before. So I will be working on this during the next week......chatter with you later, ladies! Martha.
