sew what's new?

I have not exactly been playing hookey just busy sewing and shopping and Christmas is almost upon us!  I forgot to tell you the "Mosiac Tiles " quilt was made out of Basic Grey by Moda.  I finished it! This was a large twin size quilt. I also finished an adorable 30's child's quilt Made from Sandy Klop's (American Jane) School Days fabric. This is sooo cute! So glad  you could stop by Visit with you later.

I may have gone hexagon crazy!  Or maybe I have just become a Hexagonocologist!  Is that a word?  I have finished another hexie diamond. We have precut packages of moda hexagons at the store that I work at. They are forty to a pack. I took some home to see what I could do with  them , besides just making hexies with cardboard templates. Mine were of thirties design.   Then I decided to add a wool applique to it.  The colors popped so springy and lighthearted that it needed something springy to compliment it. I am by no means an artist so this is my best attempt at a bunny.I just have to do the stitching on it before Prairie Women's club. After all the snow we have been having I need something bright and cheery! Our Quilting Guild is sewing a quilt for a raffle for next year.I volunteered to do a block and have finished it. It will be a house quilt and will also have some applique on borders when finished. Chit chat with you ...

I have been binding my Sweet Caroline with a bias stripe fabric and have finally finished! and put a few extra flowers on back to use as my quilt label also. This is a close-up of back. Then I decided to put on a few yo yo's.  Put crystals on some Left some alone. Made a yo yo butterfly and put some black beads for a body and then embroidered antenni. Hope you can see the Blue Bird on my deck. It was beautiful!  This is my back yard, it extends about another 600 feet back from the fence.  With all the rain we have been having we now have our own pond!  And two Mallaerd ducks were swimming in it earlier!  I have finished my 30's baby quilt top and the backing. I hope to drop it off this friday ,perhaps in exchange for one that has been quilted alreadfy. At least I can hope!!  The pattern is called " Sweet Caroline". did a blanket stitch around back front Received my gift from Edyta Sitar for parisipating in sihouette challenge!!!  It is her new book Scrappy Fireworks Quilts    and she also signed it !  I was tickled pink. I will cherish it. It really was a Blue Bird kind of a day!! Martha

Usually I get my holiday project done after the holiday.  For once I have something done a week in advance!  The Easter design to embroidery is free from Bird Brain Designs .  I finished it and sent it to my little sister.  I put it on a kitchen towel as you may be able to tell. I also got my April block from Aurifil ready to do tonight as I watch tv.  It was Gail Pan's  month to design.  The fabric that I am useing is Late Bloomers by Sandi Gervais . Just in case you are wondering, I am for right now,  putting my rowenta travel iron  to work. And I am still working away on my 30's project.  All for now, talk to you later, martha
