Retreat is on Monday!!!

Image
I am so excited that retreat is next week! Looking forward to girl time. When I was ironing my "Autumn Love" quilt top , my heart sank as I realized that I had forgotten to do all the embroidery accents on many of the applique blocks! I finished ironing it but now it sits waiting to be embroidered . I am not going to drag it to retreat, as I promised myself something new to work on..... Autumn Love I have also finished my "Hugs and Kisses" quilt top that I took to retreat last year.  I have pics of the progression to its building. The fabric and pattern is by Jen Kingwell. It is finished so that it will not be going with me either! I had some leftover small wool applique blocks leftover and my friend Connie said to put them in a small wall hanging for the guild's Boutique fund raiser at our Quilt Show in June. So I have finished that this past week. Binding finished! I recently got back my red and white

ALMOST FINISHED

I have been hand appliqueing  the last block in my Lori Holt's "Autumn Love" quilt. I finally finished it and put the sashing on! I then cut the binding and ironed it to get it ready for the finish.                    This fabric below is the last border to be put on. I have them cut but it will have to wait till tomorrow. I did get that last row put on before the last borders. My hubby held it during one of the race commercials today. It was greatly appreciated. Will chatter later, enjoy your sunday, Martha.

Getting Ready!

Image
I have been trying to get ready for retreat this April 1st thru the third. Last year I brought a quilt that had been in Quiltmania.    I had purchased a kit from Moda for this, same fabrics as the cover photo. Fabric and pattern are designed by one of my favorite designers! Jen Kingwell!!! Last year I forgot to bring the right rulers to be able to cut the pieces out, so next to nothing was done. So my goal this year was to have all diamonds put together so that I can just put blocks together and leave with a top put together! We'll see how far I get. Till I have a pile, but not quite finished..... I still have a couple of weeks to prepare, so I still have some time! Chatter later, Martha.

In The Mail!

I made my granddaughter a table runner that was bright green with colorful flowers on it. The green was to cover Saint Patrick's Day, and the flowers for April and May. I also got back her last star quilt from Connie Krueger, who quilted it. So I was able to add the label and the binding and mail them both off today! The front of "Sweet Blend" by Edyta Sitar. Scrappy back with label in upper left hand corner. Now back to hand applique on Lori Holt's "Autumn Love". Connie and I are going on a road trip to Randall tomorrow, might be some fat quarters involved. Just saying , could happen. Chatter later, Martha.

A Finish

Image
I have finished big stitch quilting and putting on the binding on my scrappy leftover quilt! All I have left is to put a label on the back! I am so excited. Because now I can move on to the next hand project to finish up. Blocks leftover from "Summer Wedding" The back Close up of big stitching on back I have one block to applique down on my "Autumn Love " quilt. As I have the other blocks put together, and there is only one small border after that. I have about ten more leaves to add on before all has to be sewn down. These two blocks go on ends of crow and urn block. I am so looking forward to retreat in beginning of April with third Saturday group. I just cut the pieces for what I will be working on during the time spent at Craft Camp in Pillager, Minnesota. I have it all in a project bag.                         Rulers, pattern and fabric, in one bag!                          Chatter later, Martha.
