New Project Started

Image
In going thru my stash I was amazed that I had two jelly rolls of "LOL" by Me and My Sister.  I thought I would use a Villa Rosa pattern to use one of them with it. After I took a picture of the first row, I did not see the mistake. Then I  did the second row and it took me a while looking at the pic of it ,  to find it . So I had some frog stitching to do. Which I finally accomplished and now I can show you  !   I am having fun with this and it is sooooo quick and easy!  Chatter later, Martha.

Mish Mash

I finished joining the steps 2 and 4, from the mystery quilt of Third Saturday Group. I also finished Thimblecreek's step 6 of Just Treats no Tricks! Now I get to start something new and fresh! I have two jelly rolls of Me and My Sister's "LOL" and a fat quarter bundle of solids. We'll see what I can come up with! Chatter later.

Progress

Image
I have been making some progress on my mystery for Third Saturday group!                                 Made four of theses blocks. Laid them out on the floor to see what it should look like together...... Then I put them together with the mountain strip from last post blog.... I still have to add a previous step and a small border joining them both. So still not done with these piece.  Weather is fantastic, ducks are back finally and can hear the frogs already from the "pond" . (Back yard). Chatter later, Martha.

Tula's All Stars

Image
I procured a small selection of Tula Pink's all star collection. It put a little grin on my face!  I also got 5 fat quarters that just struck my fancy, nothing really special about them.                                       Very striking though. I cut my rectangles for the next step in "Square Dance" from My Carolina Home's Blog.... This was all we had to do for this step, again I am only doing the table topper size. I did the first step of three , for my third Saturday group mystery quilt. I will  keep at it and get back to you with my progress later, Martha.

Step Five

GETTING READY FOR THE WEEKEND

Image
Our Third Saturday Group meets this Saturday! Yikes!! I had to get on the ball and sew up my third clues for the meeting. So yesterday that is what I did..... Ok, so with that finished I thought I should work on my Thimblecreek block four. Got them finished just as I saw they gave block five out today! So here are my two block fours, each have one piece of cotton lawn in them.                 Guess I will work on number five tomorrow.  I didn't want to leave my watercolor quilt alone for to long,or I would forget all about it. Below is a pic of the blank canvas. At first I was pondering the idea of hand applique.... I collaborated with hubby and two friends and came up with a different approach.... Wool applique, and with a crown of thorns hanging from cross. I now have to stitch it down ,quilt and bind it.  Wanda Hanson of "Exuberant Color" gave me the colorwash squares. She has such a wonderful collection! Well I am still

A Finish

Image
I finished the binding on my whale quilt and I made a pillowcase to go with it... I also started on my "Hexie Kisses" by Jen Kingwell. This was the quilt that I could not start on retreat because my hexie ruler did not have 2" hexies and I had no template plastic nor any freezer paper. So here first is one diamond... Then I have a start on my center row of diamonds... I am making my daughter  and sister each an apron for Mother's day, but will have to show those in the next post. Ms. Connie also basted my Tula Pink quilt, so tonight I can start hand quilting while watching TV.  Chit chat later,Martha.
