First Post in 2014!

Image
This will be my first post in 2014 ! This year is only a week old and has already had some spectacular weather moments, not only here with -61 * temps but over two thirds of the United States.  So Monday  I stayed inside and sewed all day! No guilt either.  I have a few birthdays this month that I must prepare for and have a couple of votive candle mats to show.....  Just finishing the outside edges on these and they will be done. I finally got my birthday block for Pat Sloan mailed off to her as she will be putting  all of the ones she received together in a quilt this month. I have just finished another pattern by Pam Buda called  "Pleasant Prairie".  It is a small quilt about 25" square. I even have  a label on it .   What have you been up to? Chatter with you later, Martha.

Progressing!

I am progressing on the quilt from my last post. From just this one done. To about 1/2 blocks needed. It spells winter with a snowflake on the end. Still working on the "y" and frosty. I put these rings on the back to help hang them.  They are both from this book. If you get a chance go to www.henryglassfabrics.blogspot.com  and visit yesterday's post  with Kim Diehl. She gives two patterns free! One is called "Candydish " and the other has a cute snowman in the center. Also if you get a chance to go to moosebaymuses.blogspot.com   look up the November 15th entry and see her hand applique quilt, which she calls the courting quilt. It is also one of the twelve finalists of Morton masterpiece contest and can be found here  www.mortonmasterpiece.com  .  Please go and look at all the quilts and give a vote to the one you choose.  I will chit chat a little later, Martha
