One Finish

Image
Well I finished the Snow Happens table runner by Bird Brain .   It is bound and quilted. I also finished three more blocks for  my Remembrance quilt. I also went to Pequot to pick up a quilt from Mary Hammer , my quilter. That  is the face of creativeity !!  It is in her smile and what she does.  She finished my redwork Alice In Wonderland quilt .  I have decided to round the corners and bind with the red  batik ,not the red 3o's fabric. Whenever Alice had big changes in her life (dad dieing and marriage to someone she did not love)  she retreated to Wonderland until she battled thru the crisis in her heart and mind. When she then,  could live with the decisions  or comprimises,  she must make to move forward in her life (both old and new combined) . The forgotten one

I finished the last redwork block in Alice in Wonderland quilt. I was then able to put my rows together and finish the top. I also found some pics on the internet that I wanted to use on the back. I printed them onto fabric from my inkjet printer and then I pieced them into the backing. I was able to take the quilt to the quilter's today.  Which made me happy. I was also able to finish my Raspberry Rabbits Block for May. Hopefully I will be able to get a couple of more things caught up this weekend.  I ordered Kim Diehl's new book which is out. Can hardly wait I really like her stuff.   Well all for now, enjoy your weekend  remembering those who went before and gave you the freedoms we cherish. We are all blessed by their service to us and our country.  Martha

Looks like a small cosmetic bag , doesn't it.  It is not , when you unzip it you find out what it really is!!  A shopping bag!! Neat , really cool that she thought of us!  Surrounded by all that quilt inspiration and took time to think of us, great! I was starting to put together my redwork blocks of Alice In Wonderland   ,Designed by Mirkwood Designs.   This came out afew years ago about same time Tim Burton's movie with Johnny Depp and Tim's wife Helen Burton. I thought I had twelve blocks. I was down to the last row , and I was missing the last block!! Oh my I thought at first Ilost it at my stitch therapy group meeting this afternoon. Then I retraced my steps thru my house and then looked throughly thru my folders , nothing no where to be found. Oh My!!!!  I decided to look at my patterns to see which block I was missing ,so that I would ...
