sew what's new?

This month it was Denise Muller's choice for a block and she chose  Wonky Star . I finished my two blocks to her and my block like it for myself. My Block. I have also finished embroidering blocks five and six of my taupe  basket quilt .  I also have been doing some mini quilts from Jay bird Quilt useing her mini hex'n more ruler. The first is called "Northern Lights" but I called mine Rainbow. The second  one is only done to the flimsy stage. Needs to be quilted and bound. But here it is....  It is called "Disco". Both of these patterns are like getting two patterns in one.  Because you can make a larger one just by useing the larger Hex 'N More. Enjoy your day , Martha.

I have a couple of pics to share with you.  The first is some more progress on my broken dishes quilt from the last Quiltmania Magazine. With these added to my previous ones I now have a total of 27...... brown pitcher yellow pitchers green pitchers And I need 7 more and then I can start the piecing blocks that go between. Next a pic of a baby quilt useing one half of a jelly roll and one yard of fabric!  I have already sent it to the quilter's. It is a pattern "Science Fair"  from Jaybird Quilts  Quick and easy. I have changed the quilts in my house yo autumn inspired! I finally quilted and bound my "Puss in the Corner" small quilt. So let me share with you.... Next is the Laundry Basket quilt  ..... I also got a few more hexies made.... Also been playing around with bigger hexagons and the hex'n more ruler and sidekick ruler. Want to get a few recipe blocks written down for Prairie Women's sew-in , Any one of these blocks could be used to make a quilt , candle mat, or mix them together. Can you see the cube or box? This block is called " inner city"  because blocks are all going in different directions. This block I have found goes by two names. One is "Texas Star" and the other is the "Sunflower " block.  It is big enough to make it a candle mat. Not for for sure what proper name is so I call it my "star block".  I will be working on a few recipes tonight also.  Enjoy your day and than...

I was telling Mary Hammer in Pequot Lakes, Mother's Originals, that it was hard for me to see the flowers at first in this quilt. That when I look at it I see stars! Grey ones and white ones! I did this in Cherrywood fabric .  I used and 8 step Che~ Fab  fat quarter bundle.  I did not have quite enough so two of my flowers were multi-colored. Mary is going to quilt it for me. It is about 61 x 68, so not a large quilt.  I also started on a new small quilt pattern by Edyta Sitar.  I purchased the kit at Mary's store. I am doing the one with the umbrella.  I also found  the new book by Julie Herman (hex'n more ruler fame!)  I will give you a review after i give it a read. Chatter with you later, Martha.
