Minnesota State Shop Hop

Image
August 2nd Minnesota Quilt Shops will host a 16 day party! Women thru out the state will board buses and carpools to shop.  At each quilt store we will  see this year's selected fabric and the samples each store has chosen to display useing it!  Of course there are prizes and give a ways.  However it is a way to celebrate Minnesota, women and an Up North attitude.  I thought I would share some pics of our store's samples.... This is fabric that was reinterduced in January. Norman Rockwell Fabric Jelly roll race quilt On the table are some smaller projects also. A tote , bag cassarole carrier and other projects.  I got back my hexagon flowers quilt from Mary Hammer and got it bound useing a solid  grey.  Chatter later, Martha.

Sewing Bags

Image
I find a need to make my sewing more portable lately. So I am exploring the world of bags. I, generally do not make bags,  only totes. So this is a new experience for me! This is Terry Atkinson's " CLASSMATE" bag. This is the inside with plenty of pockets and room to put all sorts of things! This pattern is by Sherry Falls and is called " Tag A Long "  and is half the price and about half of the pockets too. As you can see there are just two pockets one for each side. One good for magazines or patterns and one clear vinyl for your stitchery or threads. This is our own Erin and Karla Overland from "Cherrywood Fabrics" who went to the big apple and to Bumble Bean's   QUILT ALLIANCE AFTER DARK party(A.K.A.- Victoria Findley Wolfe) Karla is a member of the Pinetree Patchworkers Quilt Guild (that I also belong to). We will chit chat later, Martha
