Vacation

Image
Taking a little vacation time in September , about three weeks. Going to see Yellowstone, Devil's Tower,Cody museum, and Little Big Horn.  Of course the most important thing are the visits to my son and daughter and their families!  But of course I will share some pics when I get back! In the meantime I do have some pics of a few other things that I have been working on..... four place mats for one thing.....                    All made with leftover blocks from other projects. I have finished my third Saturday mystery block...... I also accomplished to sew up four journal book covers..... I also have reached another point reached on my Mrs. Hartigan's. So that's what I've been up to, chatter later, Martha.

A Little Further

Image
Well, I have gotten a little further on Mrs. Hartigan's Stash. I began marking off in yellow marker each row so I wouldn't lose my place. Especially since I don't think that there will be a second quilt o this pattern. I don't like diamonds done on the diagonal, because of bias. I am contemplating not cutting off edges and adding the stitching 1/8th away from edge to hopefully make it easier on the quilter. I'll be at it again today, so chatter later, Martha.

Stubborn and No Patience

Image
Yes that is me, stubborn and impatient! Approximately 7 years ago I started this quilt project.....  I have had the four large triangles with applique flowers finished in one month's time. Then decided i was not up to English paper piecing the rest o it. It came with a supply of paper pieces. I am trying to do some of my old projects and getting them out of my closet. I finally decided to do it by machine instead. So got myself some templates and ave began cutting out the pieces.... I have a long way to go, but the impatience  kicked in again. I  wanted something to inspire me to carry on, and to make sure it would work out. I pressed my four blocks and my ironed acted up on the second one I did.  I will have to soak this one to try and get out spit from iron. The other three were fine. My iron never did this before. Needs a soak While in my closet I found an embroidery block close to being done. I finished it last night,...

Busy

Just finished the fourth and final applique  panel for my Mrs. Hartigan's Stash quilt !  Now I have english paper piecing left, so this will be a long term quilt. And you will be hearing more about it throughout the next year..... I have also worked on my paper piecing. I felt I needed a little practise before the end of September when Farmer's Wife 1930's begins. I do not do it a lot, so I printed off two blocks and went to it.   These are in the  30's fabric and I also hope to do a Cherrywood quilt. This is the panel Christmas quilt I was working on. I went to  a meeting on Saturday for a group that hosted a swap I was in , this is the quilt I made for someone in the swap.... This is the quilt that Brenda recieved in the swap..... There is some beautiful quilting on this which I did not get a close up of! This is the back of the quilt that Connie Krueger was to recieve..... This is the front with an embroidered...

Mrs. Hartigan's Stash

Image
I have just completed the first of four applique blocks for my new quilt.  It is called Mrs. Hartigan's Stash. It is a rectangle now but will actually be a diamond when inserted into quilt. Besides applique the rest of the quilt is English Paper Pieceing. (diamonds). My daughter called a week ago and asked for a candle mat with a  Christmas flavor.  So I finished up the one I had started in October and sent it to her. Off to work now, chatter later, Martha.
