Class Pattern

Image
Each time our Little Gatherings club meets I give out a pattern   useing a larger version of the block from the book  in Lisa Bongean's book "Little Gatherings".  So I started thinking  I should really get a bit ahead of the Christmas season and decided to make it for Christmas. It did not hurt that I was inspired by the Fabric that was recently shipped to our store!   I started pulling out a few fabrics from my stash , starting with 3 red batik fat quarters and some leftover light grey background. This was my first of three blocks finished. The center blocks are fussy cut from running yardage. I joined the second block with sashing in between.  Then before I knew it there were three with a small outside border. I then had time to prepare my Linen Closet blocks for sewing down. Chit chat later, Martha.

Stitch Therapy

Image
Monday stitch therapy meets. I have made a little progress on my blocks. I have made about 30 nine patch blocks in 3 shades of green and 3 shades of yellow. Five blocks of each shade. I have also prepared 8 of the wool applique blocks needed. I have only just started the embroidery on some. When finished they will be cut and resized to 5" square, the size of the 9 patch blocks. It is a good start, chatter with you later, Martha.

Wind Not Cooperating

Image
I was trying to take a picture of a flimsy that I just finished. The wind would not be still long enough to get a good pic. Here are  4 pics that are so so. I will wait until it comes back from the quilter's to get a better one.... I visited all three sides of my deck, none worked. Oh well. I had just the right brown batik in my stash for the backing ( It was 108" wide.)  The jelly roll was moda's Lizzie's Legacy by Betsy Chutchian. The pattern was by Villa Rosa called "The Lady" and was 54" x 72". All I needed to add was 1 yard of fabric, which was brown linen.Chatter with you later, Martha.

Splendid Sampler

Image
I have been putting together my blocks from the  "Splendid Sampler" .  I figure why wait till the last minute. This is the first row. Just green sashing cut 2" x 6  1/2". Cornerstones are 2" square. These are the first twenty blocks. I actually have 24 done, so waiting to finish one more for the next row. Have a lovely weekend. Martha.

This is her Mystery Block! This is Janet's Mystery Block! And she also made a table topper/lap quilt.... Beautiful! So many talented people. Hope you enjoyed it! Have a Happy Mother's Day.
