Fall Is Hung!

Image
I have changed the quilts in my house yo autumn inspired! I finally quilted and bound my "Puss in the Corner" small quilt. So let me share with you.... Next is the Laundry Basket quilt  ..... I also got a few more hexies made.... Also been playing around with bigger hexagons and the hex'n more ruler and sidekick ruler. Want to get a few recipe blocks written down for Prairie Women's sew-in , Any one of these blocks could be used to make a quilt , candle mat, or mix them together. Can you see the cube or box? This block is called " inner city"  because blocks are all going in different directions. This block I have found goes by two names. One is "Texas Star" and the other is the "Sunflower " block.  It is big enough to make it a candle mat. Not for for sure what proper name is so I call it my "star block".  I will be working on a few recipes tonight also.  Enjoy your day and than...

Two Cuties

Image
I had the opportunity to babysit two little twelve year olds this past week.  They were adorable and good company!  They did not get into any mischief and stayed by my side waiting for any loving and petting. Their names are Sasha and Roxie.  They were very good company to have! I also made up the apron pattern I recently purchased in autumnal colors with orange dot binding. Pocket has orange dot trim. Orange binding all the way around. I have also made a purchase of two very good books.  One is "At Home with Country Quilts" by Cheryl Wall. The second is "A Bag of Scraps" by Edie McGinnis. There are some pages with very interesting history facts in this one. Younger generations should read this and appreciate what others have gone thru.    I really do appreciate all of you out there who stop to read this blog and who leave a comment once in a while. You make me blessed! Martha.

Busy Week

Image
It most certainly has been a busy week! On Monday Mr. Sew What took me to another quilt shop in Randall , Mn. And boy did I shop!  I went looking for a line of fabric called "Lario" By Three Sisters and Moda. I needed yardage as I already had  2 Layer cakes and 4 charm packs.  I found several pieces and bought 2 yd. cuts of each. I have been courting the thought of useing a grey as a backround for a different quilt but have not found any that charmed their way into my heart until  I saw this one there.... Bought what was left on the bolt. Loved the pattern.  While crusing the shop I found three patterns that I could not live without of course.  One is "Swoon" , one an embroidery, and one an apron pattern. I had come to the shop with a $20.00 gift card and spent it on pink fat quarters. I have only a few of pink as they seem to not be as abundant as they were three years ago,or at least as easy to find.  After my spree was over, ...
