A Finish!

Image
I have finally finished "Something Blue" by Pam Buda. So many little pieces .  They are cut 1 1/2 " but are 1" finished. The whole quilt is only 33 1/2" square. I have almost finished the second block in my embroidery project "Cake Walk". It will be done in Taupes fabrics and I am useing a varigated brown  taupey cosmos thread. We got in some fabric that was 80% cotton and 20% linen and it is a dream to embroidery on. I taught a class at the store on sunday on wool applique with some of the nicest ladies you will ever meet. I asked them if I could share pics with you all. They said I could,so here they are!  I enjoyed their company and they accomplished so much. So proud of each of them! All for now, off to work, Martha.

Just thought I would clue you in to what is going on in my world this past week. I did my taxes , I have a habit of putting this off until I just can't anymore. I hate doing them because we always have to pay. So I generally avoid the task. But it is done and out of the way. I have been working on Brenda's block for the exchange with Pinetree Patchworkers Quilt Guild. I even finished one for me. Brenda wants to take it from this and do a split nine patch and plan out her own setting. She plans to use her quilt for a QOV quilt. I made her a total of three blocks. Mine I went ahead and cut apart and sewed together again. I started back again on my "Something Blue" quilt by Pam Buda. Finished making my blocks. In one pile we have block I and the other pile is Block II. So now I just need to start to put together. I cleaned out a few cupboards and got rid of some plastic. I also told hubby he could not take anything out of trash. All for n...

Gotta hurry on this one, something green to celebrate the month of March! Made from scraps, a four patch with foldy corners on three sides. and green scraps that  measure 2 1/2 " squares. The  light backround squares that you make foldy corners with are 1 1/2 " squares. I made three 4 patch blocks for each shamrock. The fourth lite backround  4 1/2 " square  has a green stem is appliqued diagonally and a foldy 3" square added to bottom  to edge finish the stem.  I sewed four blocks together and put a 3" border around ( that only took 2 - 3" wof strips. Now I need to layer and quilt and bind. No formal pattern , just drew on graph paper. I have been planning on what block to do for the block exchange with Brenda Peterson's group of ladies. And I finally choose Cake Stand   I made a total of thirteen blocks and I  am adding a few finishing touches of my own.  Like adding a bird in the lower corner. Also a flower with two ...
