Been A Little Busy

Image
Sew Wonderful gave us two Christmas patterns to try this season, both of which are free on their blog. I decided to try the ornament pattern with my mini QCR . I enjoyed seeing it come together and think I will make a couple more and make a table runner. I also had been working on the quilt from the cover of Betsy Chutchian's book "Classic and Heirloom Quilts. Connie Krueger quilted it for me, so I got the binding on it right away. It is lap size 45 1/2" by 58 1/2".  This is a pic of back . Four left over blocks and fabric leftover from fat quarters. Also included leftover red Cherrywood I used for binding and accent blocks.  I wasn't very energetic this year and only put up small pre-lit tree. I made a couple of star wars pillowcases for my grandson and sent them and a couple of ornaments for his tree. I made this small spool wall hanging, I really love this fabric. I did get my Christmas quilt hung up. The creche, st

Cherrywood Challenge

My hubby and I went to the Franklin Art Center to see Cherrywood's Challenge exhibit. It was amazing and so inspiring! It would be remiss of you if you did not go to see it. A feast for the eyes and mind. It is also free! You can't go wrong, There are entrants from all over the world! I will give you a sampling both today and tomorrow.                                      same quilt I will have more pics tomorrow and of the winner. Martha.

Scraps

I was picking up my sewing room and moving a few pieces of furniture around. I found some bright diamonds of batiks leftover from a quilt that I made for my brother two years ago. I couldn't just throw them out .So I made a table runner. I added some applique with Cherrywood and wool. Haven't got all the wool sewn down yet, but thought I would share anyway...... This is one end of the runner. This is the other. I will share again when finished, Martha.

A Little Here A Little There

Image
Since the last encounter I have done only small projects nothing major. I finished a tuffet pincushion using some of the fabrics gifted to me from my friend Wanda Hansen (e.k.a. exhuberantcolor.blogspot.com  ) I also made four mug rugs for my mom's tea party with her sisters. I embroidered a scene with  zombies on linen.... I made this cute open wide bag.... This small zippered tote with hexies... I have also been doing some other hexies from Jen Kingwell's Regent Street Lawns .  I will show you those when I get further along with them. With fall market there are going to be a lot of exciting things around the corner. Martha.
