She Is At it Again!

Image
Yes Miss Mary Ann , my friend, is at it again !! I received a box from the postman today from her which I was expecting ,  just not everything else that was inside!! this rick rack and this !! Still more came out of the box! These are a couple of small quilt kits. Oh my. Surprise , surprise , surprise! Isn't that what Gomer Pyle always said. That is for all of you who know who he was.  I did finish 3 blocks for my Remembrance quilt. Talk a little more tomorrow, have a good weekend, Martha.

Quilt Show Inspired

Image
After a quilt show or a craft show it seems we all get inspired and wish to sew up  a storm!  So the shop is always buzzing after.  Keeps us all busy and on our toes. We also get uplifted and inspired. I have finished my buck block for this week . Picked up my Sweet Caroline quilt from Mary Hammer. She dodged the bullet and did not take her pic this time! HA HA HA !  Decided to use a stripe fabric for the binding, got it cut and pressed and put on . Now I just need to hand  sew down the back.   Made another thread catcher for an upcoming swap deadline. Can't show the actual swap pieces until I know swap partner has received them. So all for now, will chatter more later,Martha.

Busy Weekend ahead

Image
This weekend our Pine Tree Patchworkers Quilt Guild has thier bi-annual quilt show and quilt raffle.  Hopefully this will bring a string of photos for you in my next post. Great eye candy!!  The weather has been really wierd this year , to say the least.  It rained most of yesterday, but so far today issunny. If you look close at the corner of my fence is our raised garden floating. I think we might have to give up on it this year.  The lake approaches my neighbors (on both sides ) lawns also. My hubby and I are debating on whether or not to stock it.  We already have an abundance of frogs and mosquitoes. I have finished my buck block for this week as you see below.  Have a good weekend, Martha.

What are Friends For?

Image
I have a close friend in Illinois that loves quilting as much as i do.  Her name is Mary Ann. She just loves to share , apparently!  One day as we were talking I asked her what she was sewing on and she said her scraps , she had gotten tired of looking at them.  She was sewing them together and going to make something out of them.  She is  very neat and precise with her scraps  as they are all cut and labeled into different sizes.  Squares and half square triangles. 1 , 1 1/2, 1 3/4 and sew on!  Unlike her counterpart in Minnesota who just divides by color.  I  must of been out of my head with a fever  , or just plain stupid to have laughed and said better you than me! Within three days a package arrived for me from Illinois filled with a fabric history of my friends quilts and her stash. So now she tells me to  make something from it and show her. You can bet your bottom dollar you will be hearing more about th...
