Back to the Big Woods

Went home to Illinois to see family and friends, and go to a family re-union. Got a big surprize when grandson showed up from University of Kentucky and stayed a few days. That is him with his sister!
Then we had two grand-daughters in an year end cheer -leading competion with seven other towns. They took second  place! Yeah!

Of course i had time to go shopping with my quilting buddy ; while i was there I bought  some scrumpious civil war fabric and a large sampling of Little Gatherings from Primitive Gatherings.

WhileI was hooping it up in Illinois , the  quilt I made for Karla Overland our now past president(of our quilt  guild) was given to her!

Can't give everything away in one day , I have more to tell tomorrow, it has been a long day. Take care all! Martha

Onward!

  I have been doing some more sewing of flying geese, the past couple of days.  I have made some progress as I have about twenty sashings total sewn now.  Here are pics of what I have finished so far. I also got back another lap quilt from the quilter and I have sewn down the binding on the front side. In the evenings I am enjoying hand sewing the back side.   I also purchased some Applipops  , which were a bit on the expensive side($35) and decided to try them for all the circles in this quilt. They are not worth the price in my opinion.  To each his own. I prefer my mylar circle washers, There are many more sizes and easier to use. Ryokan Second Visit
