NEW BEGINNINGS

 FOR MANY YEARS I DID NOT SEW FOR FUN BUT OF NECESSITY.  NOW IT IS CLEARLY FOR THE PURE JOY OF IT, AT LEAST THESE LAST FEW YEARS.  I HAVE ALWAYS HAD ONE CREATIVE OUTLET OR ANOTHER, AND  NOW IT IS TIME TO PACK UP SOME CRAFTS THAT I DO NOT DO ANYMORE.  SO I HAVE BEEN SAVING UP BOXES TO MOVE SOME IT TO MY DAUGHTER'S HOME.  I HAVE DECIDED THAT THE SHELVING THAT HOUSES THE CARDSTOCK WOULD BE BETTER USED TO STORE FABRIC!  MY DAUGHTER AND HER FRIENDS DO SCRAPBOOKING SO THEY WILL HAVE A USE FOR IT.  I TOLD HER SOME OF IT IS STILL IN THE PACKAGE AND THAT IT WOULD NOT BE A SMALL AMOUNT THAT WE WERE TALKING ABOUT.  I DID CARDMAKING FOR 15 YEARS AND JUST HAVEN'T DONE IT  SINCE MOVING TO MINNESOTA. I FEEL THIS IS A NEW BEGINNING FOR ME AND A NEW FIRST STEP. SO STAND BACK AND WATCH THE DUST FLY WHILE I CLEAN UP AND PACK AWAY  THIS HERE SEWING ROOM ,PARTNER! WHOO HA!!!




THIS IS MY JANUARY BLOCK FROM THE RASPBERRY RABBIT AND IT IS FINISHED!


THIS IS BLOCK NUMBER #3 FOR MY MONTHLY STITCH THEARAPY CLUB. IT IS  DRAWN ON AND HAS BEEN COLORED WITH CRAYONS.  NOW I MUST DO THE STITCHING ON IT.


THESE ARE MY FOUR CORNER STARS FOR OUR MYSTERY QUILT WE ARE DOING IN MY KANSAS TROUBLES STASH SOCIETY CLUB .  WHICH ALSO MEETS ONCE A MONTH! 

HOPEFULLY THE CLEANING AND BOXING UP WON'T TAKE MORE THAN A WEEK .  I WOULD LIKE TO RE-ARRANGE AND ORGANIZE SOME THINGS IN THE SEWING ROOM. GET A FRESH START  FOR 2012.  THANKS FOR READING AND LISTENING TO MY THOUGHTS AS I RAMBLE ON.  IT IS GREATLY APPRECIATED .  YOU ARE MY INVISIBLE FRIENDS  BUT WARMLY THOUGHT OF.  MARTHA

Onward!

  I have been doing some more sewing of flying geese, the past couple of days.  I have made some progress as I have about twenty sashings total sewn now.  Here are pics of what I have finished so far. I also got back another lap quilt from the quilter and I have sewn down the binding on the front side. In the evenings I am enjoying hand sewing the back side.   I also purchased some Applipops  , which were a bit on the expensive side($35) and decided to try them for all the circles in this quilt. They are not worth the price in my opinion.  To each his own. I prefer my mylar circle washers, There are many more sizes and easier to use.
