Another Snow Ahead!



Tonight we are expecting the possibility of  7 to 10 inches of snow tonight. Good sewing weather.

I got the rest of my variable stars done and now I can start the sawtooth stars.

I have a large hexie quilt called science fair started; with only a couple of rows put together. I am going to show this and the ruler called Hex and More ,tomorrow.  The ruler and pattern are by “ Jaybird quilts “  Julie Herman.

This is going to be a king size bed quilt for my son for Christmas. 

Edyta Sitar showed on her blog how to take a hexagon folded in half to make a prairie point.

Fold over one third…

Then fold over the last third and there is your prairie point. 

I had some hexies left over from my scrap quilt and decided to make a scrap diamond project ,maybe a table runner or bed runner. Anyway it will be an on going project.

Onward!

  I have been doing some more sewing of flying geese, the past couple of days.  I have made some progress as I have about twenty sashings total sewn now.  Here are pics of what I have finished so far. I also got back another lap quilt from the quilter and I have sewn down the binding on the front side. In the evenings I am enjoying hand sewing the back side.   I also purchased some Applipops  , which were a bit on the expensive side($35) and decided to try them for all the circles in this quilt. They are not worth the price in my opinion.  To each his own. I prefer my mylar circle washers, There are many more sizes and easier to use. Daughter Called

My daughter called and asked if I would make her a couple of quilts! Of course I said yes, I love sharing my quilting with her. She  found a block she liked on pinterest in black,greys and white. I drew out my pattern on graph and began piecing until I got this.... and I found the most perfect soft snuggle backing.... So I now just have to take it to the quilter! I have also put up a small Christmas tree in the living room. I finished a small churn dash quilt of Fig Tree fabrics that I started at retreat in the beginning of November. I also finished my candle in the window log cabin quilt.... I started a few circle  blocks. I am going to use various blue backgrounds with my Kaffe and Tula scraps. All for now,chatter later, Martha.

Daughter Lurking

  Even though my daughter may be lurking and reading this blog, I am going to share this knapsack/purse that I just finished making for her. front with zippered pocket and white ultrasuede pull back of purse It matches a larger tote that I made her, both Tula dots. I have more pics showing inside pocket and lining. inside lining pocket with elastic pinned before sewing together Looks grey in this pic, but actually black! So I will be putting this in the mail to her Tuesday! Be safe and be kind , Martha.
