sew what's new?

I have two quilt finishes to share with you and thier backing choices..... I have been trying out different patterns of masks  and ways to tie them .  Sent a variety to each family.  Be kind to one another, even if others aren't to you. Chatter later, Martha.

I have started a new quilt top made mainly with Cherrywood fabric. The 6 1/2 " square in each block is made with the same fabric that isn't Cherrywood. It will be a queen size quilt for my bed. Below you will find a picture of the first two blocks. I have the blocks just laying on the background of Pewter cherrywood fabric. There will be sashing between every block and every row. I have made a few more blocks as seen below in the pictures. I am also starting some patriotic masks for guys,  realizing flowers are not really a guy thing. Chatter with you later, Martha. Been making more masks and sending them off..... All the masks have been sent off to people I love and care about. I had others than those pictured , but they were already in envelope to be mailed. Must start some more. I have been useing elastic hair bands for latest masks. As soon as I sent them off, I received the soft elastic that I ordered. Of course! I am trying to keep up with making placemats to use up leftover blocks. So I finished up six more to be donated to Meals on Wheels. My quilter Karl Muller gave me a call that two of my quilts were done. I'll be sharing those as soon as I get the binding on. Chatter later, be kind, be patient, Martha.

We've  had many ducks this spring but we have had some other types too! I have also put together the top of  "Danceing Umbrellas" by Edyta Sitar. Chatter with you later,Martha. Be safe, be kind.

I have finished sewing down the umbrellas and now just need to square up all 36 blocks. Thought I would show you the last few beore that happens.  I have also finished some more blocks to the Thimbleberries "3's Company". I will be putting these two quilts together and will show you more of them soon. Chatter later, Martha. Be safe and stay home!

I have some more umbrellas that are finished being sewn down. I went outside to take the pictures , as it is sunny , however a bit chilly. I was hoping the sun would help the pictures even if the photographer couldn't. Here they are.... I have also been trying to finish a UFO from about ten years ago. It is a thimbleberries project and is called "Three's Company". Apparently I lost interest after the 8th month, because I have the last four months of blocks to do yet. I just finished month nine, which had four blocks to do..... The first block is 12 1/2" square and the other three are 6 1/2" square. For month 10 , I have fabric cut for four blocks, but that is all. You can see the block pattern just above the yellow block in the picture. All for now, busy bee am I. Martha.
