Summer Block of the Week

Tomorrow " Colorz for Quilts" is starting our summer program called buck blocks. It is a dollar a week for twelve weeks. Hence the name buck blocks. We end up with twelve blocks and are given choices of settings during that time. Usually at least three from past years. There are usually three choices of colorways also. This year they were Amish (which I am doing ) ,30's , and harvest. All very pretty! Here is a pic of my block finished as I worked on Saturday and brought it home to do.

  I have been doing some more sewing of flying geese, the past couple of days.  I have made some progress as I have about twenty sashings total sewn now.  Here are pics of what I have finished so far. I also got back another lap quilt from the quilter and I have sewn down the binding on the front side. In the evenings I am enjoying hand sewing the back side.   I also purchased some Applipops  , which were a bit on the expensive side($35) and decided to try them for all the circles in this quilt. They are not worth the price in my opinion.  To each his own. I prefer my mylar circle washers, There are many more sizes and easier to use. There were so many quilts at Santa Clara , and I did not even get to see them all. Heaven! Made with Kaffe Fasset. These were raffle quilts! This was covered in crystals!                                             I will show some more tomorrow, Martha.
