What's Up

Image
More Doctor visits than anything in the sewing room. Working on my blocks for Mystery Quilt for our third saturday group still.  I needed 84  four patch blocks. I have about 90 done. I am using black as my background color.... I then started to make fabric as Victoria Findley Wolfe puts it. Amanda Jean Nyberg says its sewing slabs together.... I then sew up my 4 1/2" half square triangles. I haven't gotten them put together yet, will write again once I do. I have gotten two of my quilts back from quilter's. They are from my 2 1/2" strip bin. The first is from quilter, Susan Gordon and is bound and has a label on. The second has a label on and has been quilted by Karl Muller. I haven't had time to make binding yet but it is trimmed. It also has a pieced backing of flannel and corduroy.  I will be finishing this off next. I still have two other quilts out to be quilted. So happy to see snow melting , hope this continues, ...

A Few Finishes

I promised my granddaughter a pencil case. Since she is going to NIU(Northern Illinois University), next year I thought I would try and find some husky material. That is thier mascot. No such luck ,but I did find some wolf head material which I think will pass.  I put my hand up against it to show her about how big it was.  Hope you can see the wolf head slash Husky head! It got put in the post today. I also finished quilting and binding my heart quilt for "Loving Arms". I have been good at doing a few blocks from my 2 1/2" bin each day. The block directions came with nine ways to set it. I thought that I would try a few of them before I get to far along..... I think I like the last one the best. We'll see, there is still a ways to go for  81 blocks are made. Chatter with you later, Martha. Thanks for stopping by.

One Down ,Two To Go

I have  one quilt back from the quilter and have it bound, too! Label is on too! Perhaps you can see some of the quilting from the back. I have two other tops with quilters made  from that 2 1/2" bin of strips. I finished another top with six block squares just finished yesterday, I have pics to share of progression....                             I just need to piece a back now. I thought since valentine's day is almost here I would sew up a small quilt for "Loving Arms" charity for the occasion.                                  It's only about 26" square. I have also picked a new block to make with 2 1/2" strips and some 3 1/2" squares that I have collected. I think I have about 8 squares sewn up now. This may be a small lap quilt. I'm thinking maybe 90 squares total, about 5...
