At Least One

Image
I had to see how at least one block would look like, so I got one put together. Even though the embroider  and  berries aren't there, it still gives a clue how the block will look.   I have also finished the last 15 flying geese sashings.... There is a lot of waste in the way this quilt is made, so I am sewing up the half square triangles for a smaller wall hanging. For each block made I have 2 small blocks left over. Chatter with you later, Martha.  I am linking with  Slow Stitching Sunday  ,  and with Oh Scrap .  Also  with   https://www.homesewnbyus.com/

More

I have eighteen more sashings finished..... I have now started to make four at a time since I have run out of precut rectangles. Makes it go a bit faster.  I have 28 blocks done with embroidery stems (I need 56 total.)  I have begun making the berry circles.   I have begun to glue them on this square, so that I can applique them down during tv time. After they are sewn down , I can trim the square to it's proper size.  Chatter later, Martha.

Binding Finish

I finished sewing the binding and the label for my Tula Pink "Linework" quilt. So I thought I'd share some pictures.... I also have some of the backing where I put some extra blocks. I  have six more sashings finished.

Onward!

I have been doing some more sewing of flying geese, the past couple of days.  I have made some progress as I have about twenty sashings total sewn now.  Here are pics of what I have finished so far. I also got back another lap quilt from the quilter and I have sewn down the binding on the front side. In the evenings I am enjoying hand sewing the back side.   I also purchased some Applipops  , which were a bit on the expensive side($35) and decided to try them for all the circles in this quilt. They are not worth the price in my opinion.  To each his own. I prefer my mylar circle washers, There are many more sizes and easier to use. New Start

Image
I have decided to do "Coastal Lily" by Polly Minick and Laurie Simpson. I found the pattern in the American Quilter Magazine in July of 2015 and saved it.  There is a bit of embroidery and applique to it. This is a picture of the article that I tore out of the magazine. I prefer making my geese four at a time with Deb Tucker's ruler. However the pattern does it one by one and gives more variety in fabrics for the geese. Then five are sewn together for the sashing strips. I now have four and need about 56. So in the evening I am doing the embroidery for each lily block. It's the stems that hold up the berries. I am using a variety of grey threads and have finished 17 blocks so far. I need 48, so I have a ways to go.  Be safe and be kind, Martha.

Borders

I have my quilt blocks all put together. I put two borders on two sides of  my  Dresden quilt. I am going to use the same fairy dust fabric used in the background on the backing. Be safe and be kind, Martha.
